Brother "Unable to Clean 46": Ink Absorber Full

Error 46 is a maintenance limit on Brother inkjet printers. During head cleaning the printer flushes ink into an internal absorber; once it’s counted as full, the machine blocks printing to avoid overflow. Brother’s official position is that the absorber isn’t a user-purchasable part and should be replaced by an Authorized Service Center. Frequent cleaning — often from non-Brother inks clogging the head — fills it faster.
